Parts Sales Manager



JOB DESCRIPTION


• Maintains constant awareness of markets, competitor activities and problems within assigned area; recognizes trends that develop, makes appropriate recommendations as required. 
• Analyzes and prepares Parts business forecasts, reports; reviews and audits expense reports. 
• Develops strategic short and long-range plans that cover Parts Department operations, personnel, financial performance, and growth. 
• Sets work priorities by reviewing area performance and comparing with short and long-term goals.
• Evaluates stock and selects items for weekly orders.
• Integrates within Trane Service team to determine stocking requirements for upcoming planned jobs and Service promotions.
• Responsible for all aspects of inventory control including replenishment, stocking, cycle counting, and physical inventory.
• Evaluates and orders new product lines.
• Develops, designs, and implements marketing plan to increase parts sales.
• Designs product promotions.
• Conducts market price and product needs analyses.
• Defines and implements pricing strategy for parts.
• Reviews, understands and investigates the factors affecting financial performance of Parts business.
• Performs customer surveys and conducts focus group meetings.
• Supervises inside sales, outside sales, administrative, and warehouse parts personnel.
• Participates in office sales meetings to ensure coordination for support internally as well as capturing opportunities that exist with project contractors and partners.
• Serves customers by answering questions, providing information and by locating and shipping parts.
• Responsible for monitoring and supporting warranty needs.  (Supply of parts for warranty purposes)
• Oversees parts deliveries, stocking, and storage.
• Coordinates, plans, and conducts regular sales meetings with inside/outside sales personnel.
• Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required.

 

   

QUALIFICATION

[EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE]
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and two to five years part management related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Possesses good computer skills. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Peoplesoft, Oracle


[LANGUAGE SKILLS]
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
• Able to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 
• Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public required.


[MATHEMATICAL SKILLS]
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. 
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


[CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS]
• Valid Driver’s License
• CATS Certification (preferred)
